Leadership Succession Committee Report Annual Meeting March 1, 2006 Members: Susan Frazier, Stephanie Lacerda Farquhar Marina Donahue stepped down in order to serve as Secretary A strong effort was made to solicit candidates for office by email, the e-newsletter, in person, and by the paper newsletter, however, not all positions have candidates. According to the changes in the chapter by-laws, the president may appoint officers to vacant positions. According to changes made at the Biennial Convention, Governance Committee members may now be either appointed or elected. The annual elections were changed to be held at the annual business meeting instead of by mailed ballot as is allowed in accordance with the by laws. The annual elections were announced by paper newsletter in November and by electronic newsletter and listserv since November. Due to the unusual circumstances of having all positions open this year, it was decided to have several one year positions so that all officers do not end their terms at the same time, in accordance with the by-laws. The slate of candidates was distributed at the February 1, 2006 meeting. Since that meeting, one candidate rescinded her nomination and one stepped forward. A second newsletter will be mailed to all active members with the results of the election. The change in officers will take effect on July 1, 2006. Respectfully Submitted, Susan C.
