VII. OUTSTANDING SERVICE to NURSING AWARD

Mary Hettich MS RN FNP was Theta Alpha Chapter's choice for this award in 2002.

2001's award was granted to Bennet Zaifert a graduating baccalaureate student. As with many of our UMASS Boston students, his is not Bennet's first occupation. Prior to attending nursing school, Bennet was an accountant for many years. He remarks that his two worlds could not have been more polar. Faculty have often remarked about Bennet's caring ways and wisdom. It was from these observations that Theta Alpha Chapter was pleased to present Bennet with this award.

The 2000 year award went to Anne Eldridge MSN RN for her tireless efforts supporting the Worcester Nurses' Strike in association with Massachusetts Nurses Association. In addition, Ms. Eldridge has been a longtime supporter and advocate for a Patient’s Bill of Rights in Massachusetts.
